Mix & Carry
Mix & Carry is the complete feeding system for large herds in loose housings. We
believe in healthy animals through intelligent feeding. The
Mix & Carry system opens up complete new options for fully automatic feeding
of TMR to large herds. The system works on the principle of individual
weighing-in, mixing and feeding several times around the clock the
individual groups in the herd.
Great capacity
Outsourcing the different functions to various units results in
unlimited capacity. The "Mix & Carry" system is able to feed large
units with 250+ cows with several different freshly mixed mixings at
different hours - totally automatically.
How Mix & Carry works
The different mixings are weighed-in and mixed in a central MVM mixer unit
that is being filled automatically from different hoppers. From here a
feeder transports the mix to the different feeding groups. If the
unit is to big for one feeder, more feeders can easily be added into the
system.
Mix & Carry weighs-in and mixes the individuel feed types immediately before
feeding. Most farmers choose to also mix many times for each feeding
group, i.e. only a small quantity of freshly mixed feed is dispensed
each time. All this contributes to a significantly increased ad lib
feeding and increases the animals' feed intake of large roughage
quantities.
Save time
With the
Mix & Carry a large reduction in working hours is achieved in comparison with
traditional feeding methods. Filling the system hoppers is a simple
process and all groups can be fed as you like it - without any extra
workload.
Higher feed efficiency
A correct feed composition is
crucial for a higher feed intake and yield. The
Mix & Carry system enables the farmer to optimise and feed the correct
mix of fresh feed accommodating the animals' needs in quantity, energy
value and structure - thus achieving direct feed cost savings.
Improved milk quality
Feeding with
Mix & Carry means a clean feeding table. No soil from tractor wheels to
contaminate the feed and with a lower risk of high spore counts an
improved milk quality is possible.
Feeding table
The size of the feeder makes it
very flexible. A narrow feeding table only 2 m wide is sufficient and
that, of course, reduces construction costs in new buildings. On the other
hand, the system can easily be integrated into the existing framework in
cow houses with a wide feeding table. In
most cases it will be possible to feed the whole unit, even though
sections of unit are housed in older buildings with only little room.
This means that in most cases "only" the young calves need to
be fed manually.
