Free Stall Feeder
The Mullerup
Free Stall Feeder
is a strong alternative to the feeding work in the loose house, if
you prefer to make one or more manually mixed TMR every day to be dispensed
several times daily to the different feeding groups. Free Stall Feeder
will in fact carry out the loading and the feeding work automatically.
Free Stall Feeder is
a battery-driven, computer-controlled feeder mounted in rails. The
feeder automatically picks up the feed from a MVM
stationary mixer. Free Stall Feeder is able to dispense feed to both
sides by means of a feed conveyor.
Feeding groups
The basic principle behind the
Free Stall Feeder system is that the animals can be divided into feeding
groups that are allocated feed according to their needs. The number of groups and the quantity per animal are
entered into the computer, and then
Free Stall Feeder manages the rest. Depending
on which cows to feed the
Free Stall Feeder is able to vary the quantity
because the feeder is suspended in load cells. Frequency of feeding can
also be varied.
A clean feeding table and a
better milk quality
Every
time the feed is moved (aired), a fermantation process begins. It also
happens every time the feed is pushed/swept inside. It is therefore an
advantage to dispense the feed in small quantities during the day, so
the animals have time to eat up between each feeding. With
Free Stall Feeder you do not have to sweep the feeding table daily.
Feeding
with Free Stall Feeder also means a clean feeding table. Without soil
from tractor wheels that may contaminate the feed the risk of high spore
counts is minimized, and thus achieving a better milk quality is possible.
Feeding table width of only 2
m
The size of
Free Stall Feeder
makes it very flexible. A narrow feeding table only 2 m wide is
sufficient and that, of course, reduces construction costs in new
buildings. The system can easily be integrated into the existing
framework in cow houses with a wide feeding table. In most cases it will
be possible to feed the whole unit, even though sections of the unit are
housed in older buildings with only little room. This means that in most
cases "only" the young calves need to be fed manually. |
